ST. LOUIS, MO (September 6, 2011) - Amitech Solutions is proud to be a sponsor of the TDWI St. Louis Chapter meeting on September 16. There will be two sessions "Aligning BI Investments and the Bottom-Line: The Role of Business Requirements" and "BI Business Requirements: A Framework for Business Analysts." Come meet other local BI/DW professionals, swap business cards, share ideas, and exchange career advice while listening to quality presentations in a vendor-neutral setting, which is the hallmark of TDWI education. This event is free of charge and open to all interested BI/DW professionals. It will be held from 8:00am - noon at the Hilton St. Louis Frontenac Hotel, 1335 South Lindbergh Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63131.

Session 1 "Aligning BI Investments and the Bottom-Line: The Role of Business Requirements" abstract:
The lack of clear business requirements is often regarded as one of the key failings of organizations that have struggled to achieve high-impact Business Intelligence (BI) programs. Industry best practice winners, in contrast, explicitly connect BI business requirements to stated business objectives. This presentation will outline the business requirements paradigm shift that is needed for organizations that are interested in maturing their current BI initiatives to achieve improved bottom-line results. It will discuss the shifts in approach, organizational roles and responsibilities, and critical success factors needed to mature BI programs and improve the business value of BI investments.

Session 2 "BI Business Requirements: A Framework for Business Analysts" abstract:
Requirements approaches that have been used to define business requirements for Decision Support and Operational System development have proven to be inadequate for supporting mature business intelligence programs. This presentation will provide an overview of current BI business requirements industry best practices. It will discuss approaches for eliciting and documenting business requirements for BI. It will also outline an approach for scoping and prioritizing individual BI projects. Finally, it will equip the business analyst with a BI business requirements framework for achieving clear BI business requirements that explicitly align with and support improved business performance.
