Join Amitech Solutions at the April TDWI Chapter Meeting on April 15
ST. LOUIS, MO (March 29, 2011) - Amitech Solutions is proud to be a co-sponsor of
this quarter's TDWI St. Louis Chapter meeting, and invites you to join us at the
Wells Fargo Learning Center on Friday, April 15th, 2011. In addition to providing
an opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with other business intelligence and data
warehousing professionals, this quarter's event will feature two talks: "Information
and Data Governance and its Business Value" by Cheri Cooper of Wells Fargo Associates,
and "Healthcare Meaningful Use" by Jason Ketteman and Sandi Wolf of Mercy Health
Systems.
Information and Data Governance and its Business Value
Cheri Cooper is the Business Information Officer and a Senior Vice President at
the St. Louis Home Office of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC, responsible several strategic
initiatives, including the company's Information Strategic Initiative. Additionally,
Cheri chairs the Information Governance board, and works to ensure governance processes
are followed and updated as the company grows and matures.
In her talk, Cheri will explore why Data Governance is important, and share the
approach Wells Fargo Advisors took to institute its Information Governance Board
and associated Data Governance procedures. Cheri will discuss the Process Flows,
Event Triggers and Value Proposition of Data Governance, and describe some of the
lessons learned throughout the process of developing new governance procedures.
Healthcare Meaningful Use
From the Sisters of Mercy Health System's Grant Management Office, Director Sandi
Wolf and Operational Informaticist Jason Ketteman both attribute their success to
a wide range of background experience, rather than deep expertise in any one particular
area. Sandi, a CPA with a career in regulatory and financial analytics, and Jason,
a Pharmacist with a career in IT and business intelligence, spend most of their
time working to bridge the divides that can develop between the disparate groups
their office serves, including front-line caregivers, clinical leadership, technical
and operations personnel, and regulatory entities.
Their talk will focus the recent efforts by the federal government to encourage
adoption of healthcare information technology through the American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act's funding for electronic health records (EHR) systems. Specifically,
they will focus on the requirement that providers engage in "Meaningful Use" of
EHR systems, which are the first of several mechanisms to ensure that technology
is used effectively to improve patient care.
